Nowadays, most Chinese and Western fast food restaurants employ the following process: after a customer orders and pays at the counter, the staff at the counter will give the customer a meal board marked with Arabic numerals, and the customer will voluntarily find a table and place the meal board on it. After the food is well prepared, a restaurant waiter (or waitress) will serve it to the customer’s table.
